Feeding the Hungry

Feeding America through a network of food banks across the USA.

Meals on Wheels is dedicated to ending senior hunger in America by 2020 by providing meals to elderly people through at home delivery, meal preparation and packaging, Senior Center Aides and more. Volunteers are needed throughout the USA.

Los Angeles Regional Food Bank The demand for food assistance in Los Angeles County is increasing while it has experienced reductions in food and funds from the government. Currently they are seeking more volunteers and donations to help the growing needs of the community.

USA Pranic Healing Feeding Programs -  Both organizations listed here work to feed the hungry, help in emergency/disaster relief, and provide support to those in need. They have done amazing work in the last year during the COVID-19 Pandemic. You can also contact your local center in your area and find out if there is a group of Pranic Healers doing charitable works.

Help Children in Need

Giving Children Hope works to promote family sustainability, economic independence and self-sufficiency so that children may grow in stable environments. It also helps in the development & rehabilitation of under resourced clinics, hospitals and orphanges. Activities are in Southern California but they also have International Programs.

Schools on Wheels works one-on-one with children whose homelessness prevents them from getting the academic stability and help they desperately need. Volunteer tutors from all backgrounds and professions are needed to reach out to a child, to teach, to mentor and assist in their educational life. Activities are in Southern California.

Think Together aims at providing high-quality, academically oriented out-of-school programs for students regardless of race, creed, or socioeconomic status. Think Together has been committed to improving academic outcomes for children and youth living in under-resourced communities in Southern California.

Feed the Children works toward helping at risk children in America get the food, school supplies and education they need to improve their quality of life.

Make-A-Wish works to enrich the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. It reflects the life-changing impact that a Make-A-Wish experience has on children, families, referral sources, donors, sponsors and entire communities. Volunteer Opportunies available worldwide.


Help the Earth

Peace Corps works in countries from Asia to Central America and from Europe to Africa. Volunteers work with governments, schools and entrepreneurs to address changing and complex needs in education, health and HIV/AIDS, business, information technology, agriculture and the environment.

The Nature Conservancy works in over 30 countries and throughout the USA to as a leading conservation organization working to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people. Tree People provides sustainable solutions to urban ecosystem problems through environmental education, forestry programs, demonstrations projects and policy outreach. Activities are in Southern California.

Heal the Bay is an environmental organization making Southern California coastal waters and watersheds safe, healthy and clean through science, education, community action and advocacy.

Save Our Beach educates people about the environmental footprint impacts their community and the world through field trips, beach and riverbed cleanups and team building activities. Activities are in Southern California.


Helping People Start Over

Habitat for Humanity works to build and repair simple, decent, affordable houses with those who lack adequate shelter around the world. Homewowners are selected based on their need for housing, their ability to repay a mortgage and their willingness to work in partnership with Habitat. Volunteer opportunities are available worldwide.

Kiva is a non-profit organization with a mission to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty. Leveraging the internet and worldwide network of microfinance institutions, Kiva lets individuals lend as little as $25 to help create opportunity around the world. Aside from lenders, volunteers are also needed as part of their Kiva Review and Translation Program (Editing and Translating). Supporters are also welcome to create programs to get your local campus, classroom or community involved in helping others create opportunity and better lives for themselves!


Hospice/ Hospital Care / Donate Blood

American Red Cross helps in preventing, preparing and responding to life-threatening emergencies by providing services through Disaster Response, Health & Safety, Blood Services, Service to the Armed Forces and International Services as well as ensuring that an area has safe and adequate blood supply. Activities throughout the USA.

Hospice Foundation Is designed to provide comfort and support to patients and their families when a life-limiting illness no longer responds to cure-oriented treatments. Volunteers can provide support through visiting, reading, taking walks, writing letters, bringing music, supervising visits with pets, childcare assitance, and more. Animal Rescue/ Adoption

The Humane Society - Working to end all forms of cruelty and achieve the vision of a humane society.

U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service is a goverment agency working to conserve, protect and enhance fish, wildlife and plants and their habitats in the USA. Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the USA.
National Wildlife Federation Works locally to help wildlife, protect the environment, restore and maintain healthy ecosystems. Volunteer opportunities are available through regional centers in most states throughout the USA.

ASPCA The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is the first humane society established in North America. It is based on the belief that animals are entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of humans and that they should be protected under the law. Support this animal welfare organization by volunteering at your local shelter, starting a pet food bank, becoming an animal activist, participating in cleanups for wildlife and more!
